VagoBondo Restaurant - Romantic Delights in Alvor, Both Summer and Winter!

Vago Bondo Restaurant, a cozy spot with a Swedish owner, has truly captured a special place in our hearts.

Whether you're enjoying a summer evening on the charming small terrace by the street, people-watching as you go, or spending the winter months indoors by the fireplace, the atmosphere is always enchanting.

With around 15 tables indoors, the interior is SUPER cozy. The restaurant has been in business for 32 years, and it's clear why it's so beloved. The Swedish owner, once a sort of vagabond, fell in love with Alvor and opened his restaurant here.

We were absolutely thrilled with this place! The tables are beautifully set, and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. The menu starts with vegetarian dishes, such as the delightful black bean burger (€14.50) and the vegetable wok (€11.50). The waitress informed us that they have even more vegetarian options on their summer menu, including salads and lentils.

In addition to steak, they also offer seafood dishes like Swedish salmon (€17.50) and shrimp (€24.50).

We opted for a delightful Douro wine called Alice, with an original handwritten label, which added a nice touch. The recommended wine was delicious, and the staff was extremely helpful. They took the time to explain everything and were very attentive, always ready to assist. Sandra, hailing from Lisbon, took care of our table with great attention and kindness.

A small note: currently, the restaurant's website seems to be down, but don't let that deter you from visiting this romantic spot. Vago Bondo Restaurant is a gem in Alvor that is open year-round and offers an unforgettable experience. Go there and enjoy the warm ambiance and delicious dishes!

PS: We visit 365 restaurants per year in the Algarve, and I can usually guess who the owner is... but not this time. There were three ladies who could potentially be the owner, as they were so motivated, involved, and hospitable. However, the boss himself was not present, so none of them was the owner. He can be proud of the fantastic staff he has! Hats off to the ladies!
