Gigi Beachhouse is located in the middle of Ria Formosa wetlands, between 5-star hotel Quinta do Lago and Praia da Quinta do Lago.

It is a beautiful wooden beach house, on high stilts. After parking your car, you walk across the beautiful nature reserve via the wooden walkways.

Gigi's restaurant is very small, but has spacious terraces on all sides, which have beautiful views. You get the feeling of being on an island. In the middle of nature. The only dissonant here is the noise of continuous planes taking off.

The staff are very friendly and quick. They bustle about, which perhaps also characterises Gigi's atmosphere. It is a cosy crowd, with all kinds of people. Many older people eating here alone, too.

The menu is on the chalkboard on the wall, and besides many fish dishes, also 2 vegan dishes. The black beans with rice, vegetables and delicious potatoes (18 euros), and the large (but very simple) salad (15 euros)

The couvert cost 2.75, a glass of wine 6.80, a fish salad 25 euros and prawns with rice 30 euros. Other fish dishes are charged by the kilo.

The prices are high, but the location and the view make you want to come back here.

Gigi is open daily from 12.30-17h.

PS Booking is a must as it is very popular and has many regulars. Tip: reserve outdoor seating, which is 10x more fun than inside.
