Mahalo, a cozy new restaurant nestled between Almancil and Santa Bárbara de Nexe, is a true gem!
This charming eatery is run by the French/Portuguese couple, Joao and the lovely Kelly, who is not only fluent in French but also in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
With just 3 months under its belt, Mahalo has already welcomed many Portuguese and international guests.
What truly sets Mahalo apart is the vibrant atmosphere it creates. Every Wednesday, there's live music, and they regularly host fado and jazz evenings. The restaurant exudes coziness, with a sunny terrace, a bar area, a semi-open kitchen, and its own parking lot. It's a fantastic addition to the dining scene in Almancil and Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
The menu offers a diverse selection, from steaks to tuna, salmon, and shrimp. For vegetarians, there are options like Vega croquettes and a Vega salad with tofu. What makes it even better are the reasonable prices, ranging from 13 to 17.50 euros.
A special mention goes to Catharina, a fantastic waitress who approaches her first job with passion. Mahalo is the perfect place to indulge in delicious food, live music, and a warm ambiance. Be sure to pay them a visit between Almancil and Santa Bárbara de Nexe and uncover this hidden treasure!

Visited this place three times since they opened. Service was excellent and the staff are very nice. Seafood dishes were good but unfortunately the meat dishes were not great. We had pork preto which was greasy and tough and the rump steak was as tough as old boots, in fact I left almost all of my meat which I took home for my dogs. Not a great experience the last time we visited. They really need to up their game if they want to succeed in Santa Barbara.
We have eaten twice recently, both times we had great food and excellent service, good value food served with a smile.
