Staar Restaurant - A Blend of Luxury and Moderation in Albufeira

Nestled discreetly in a charming alleyway just off the bustling streets near the beach tunnel, Staar Restaurant presents itself as a modern culinary gem in the heart of the historic center of Albufeira.

With a history of three years, the restaurant boasts a beautiful contemporary interior with a central bar buffet, exuding a cozy and modern atmosphere. With only 12 tables, it offers an intimate setting.

I had high expectations of a luxurious dining experience, given the restaurant's opulent appearance, but it didn't quite meet those expectations. While the food and service were good, they didn't quite match the lavish ambiance.

The street terrace offers just two tables, while the open kitchen on the first floor adds an interesting touch to the dining experience. The menu features a variety of fish and meat dishes, though it's worth noting that there's only one vegan option: a Salad with Tofu and Hummus priced at 13 euros.

The couvert, complete with fresh bread and olives, is delightful. However, the olive oil served in sachets feels somewhat out of place in this otherwise chic setting.

Our waiter, Willyam, hailing from Brazil, was very friendly, while the waitress seemed to be having an off day.

Despite the restaurant's luxurious interior and decent service, there were some noticeable shortcomings, such as the absence of wine and water service, which one would expect in such an establishment. Therefore, I would rate Staar Restaurant at 8.1, just below the 8.5 or higher that a restaurant with this ambiance should achieve.

In summary, Staar Restaurant offers a good dining experience but falls slightly short of being the very best in Albufeira.
