Walking into Sal Maris, I am greeted by familiar faces who recognize me, creating an immediate sense of warmth and belonging. This new hip restaurant, located on a main road in Albufeira, is a refreshing addition to the culinary scene. Owned by the same family as the renowned Mato a Vista, a traditional rural restaurant, Sal Maris offers a completely different concept curated by the youngest generation, Tiago Cordeiro.

Mato a Vista, their previous establishment, is located at the top end of Albufeira and is known for its great food and wonderful wine shop.

The building has undergone extensive remodeling, boasting a large terrace with an outdoor bar at the back. This attention to detail creates an inviting atmosphere where one can enjoy a leisurely sip of fine wine at the hip bar or indulge in a delightful dining experience on the terrace.

Both dishes are a harmonious blend of textures and spices, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. The talented Chef Joao Simoes, who previously worked at the esteemed restaurant O Leão de Porches, leads the kitchen.
