Why I Love What I Do: Brainpower! (Column)

People sometimes ask me: how do you keep going, writing all those reviews and columns? Well, by now I’ve written over 500 reviews and 50 columns about the Algarve – and honestly, it doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s pure passion.

Every time I sit down at my laptop or visit a restaurant, beach, or little town, something switches on in my brain. I observe, taste, listen, and turn it all into words. It gives me a kind of brain kick – as if I’m feeding my mind with fresh energy. You could call it my personal form of “brain training.”

What I love most is that this way, I keep rediscovering the Algarve. The fresh air in the early morning, a busy beach in the afternoon, or a tiny restaurant I’ve never tried before… I write it down, experience it twice, and get to share it with others.

For me, that’s real wealth: a sharp mind, a warm heart, and stories that never stop flowing. Brain health is real wealth – and writing is my ultimate brainpower!
