When I first discovered Ikigai – the Japanese idea that life becomes meaningful when you do what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can also earn a living from – it felt like a puzzle finally came together.
Here in the Algarve, I live this every day. My love for writing and exploring comes together in my work for HotspotsAlgarve.com. I get to inspire people with honest stories about restaurants, hotels, and special places. That is my passion.
What I’m good at? Observing, experiencing, and putting into words what others often feel but can’t quite express. It makes my stories personal and relatable.
And the world truly needs this. Travelers don’t want polished brochures; they want real experiences that help them choose the right place. That’s exactly what I offer.
I don’t get paid for my reviews – I pay for my own meals and keep full independence. The winners are the restaurants, who welcome more guests thanks to my stories, and the readers, who discover the good places. Seeing that connection grow is my reward.
That is my Ikigai. And honestly? Here, between the sun, sea, and orange groves, it feels like I’ve finally found my place.
